This Week on RC Drift Empire: Pit Clip Hearts, New Driver Pages and Part Photos

Pit Clips got hearts and a Hot This Week shelf, driver pages have a new look, setup cards come in your colors, and your build sheet now shows part photos. Here's what changed this week.

Here’s what changed on RC Drift Empire this week. Short version: clips are easier to find, driver pages got a new look, and your garage shows a lot more of your build.

Everything below is live now. Screenshots are from the real site, with real drivers.

Pit Clips: hearts and a Hot This Week shelf

You can now give a clip a heart. The Drivers page has a new Pit Clips shelf that shows the best clip from each Team Driver, ranked by hearts from the last seven days. Tap play and the clip runs right in the card. Share sits right next to the heart, on your phone or your computer.

The shelf only shows Team Drivers’ clips, which keeps spam off the page. Any driver can still make clips, and they show on your own driver page.

New looks for your clips

The clip studio has four themes now: Classic, Driver card, Broadcast and Title bar. All four are free. There are new borders too. Neon glow and Dancing pumpkins are free. Fire, Electric, Dancing cats, Tire smoke and Checkered come with Team Driver, and anyone can preview them before recording.

A new driver page

Driver pages have a new layout. Your name, badges, stats and pit notes sit in a column in your own driver color. Next to it are your car, clips, photos and setups, with tabs for Car & clips, Team & tracks, and Activity. On a computer, your activity timeline sits under that column. On a phone it all stacks into one column.

That’s BluCheez, our October Build of the Month.

The Garage, with setup cards over each driver’s car photo.

Setup cards in your colors

Setups in the Garage now sit on top of your car photo, in your driver color. Each card shows the track surface, the setup name, the chassis and who runs it. The Garage’s tools now sit in one bar across the top.

Click a setup card on the Drivers page and it opens that setup, not the driver’s profile. A setup shared in a team log opens the same way.

Part photos on your build sheet

The parts on your car now show as a build sheet, grouped the way you think about them: power, steering, suspension, wheels and tires, then everything else on the car.

When a part is in our catalog, its photo shows up on its own. You don’t upload anything. If we don’t have a photo yet, you get a simple drawing in your color instead. Listing parts is now free for every driver.

Smaller changes

  • Pit Wall. When you come back to the site, new notifications open in the Pit Wall on your first visit of the day, so you don’t miss them. Track sessions show the full time, like “5–11 PM”.
  • Follow, like and star emails. When someone follows you, likes your stuff or stars your setup, you’ll get one email about it, and never more than one a day. If you already saw it on the site, we skip the email. Every one has a link to stop them.
  • Signing up. The join form shows the driver name rules before you submit, so you don’t get sent back.

Got an idea, or found something that doesn’t work right? Tell me in the comments.

Yes. Any driver can make a clip with the four free themes and the Neon glow or Dancing pumpkins borders. The Hot This Week shelf shows Team Drivers’ clips, and the Fire, Electric, Dancing cats, Tire smoke and Checkered borders come with Team Driver. Anyone can preview them in the studio.

No. Pick the part from our catalog, or type its name. If what you typed matches one part in the catalog, its photo shows up on your build sheet. Your part list stays exactly as you typed it. If we don’t have a photo yet, you’ll see a simple drawing in your driver color.

More than one car, extra car photos, paint credit, the build log and Build of the Month. Listing parts and the part photos are free for every driver.

Yes. Every one of those emails has a link to stop them, and you can turn them back on in your account settings. You’ll never get more than one a day.
