Likes Are Live: Show Some Love Across RC Drift Empire
You can now tap the heart on driver profiles, garages, tracks, events, and news across RC Drift Empire. Here is why we built it and what it does.
When you walk down the pit tables at a practice night, someone is always pointing out a dialed chassis, a clean custom livery, or a smooth tandem chase. That encouragement is the heart of RC drifting. Today, that appreciation has an official home on RC Drift Empire: the Like button is live across the entire platform.
Here is why we built it, what you can like, and why it stays honest.
Why We Built It
Most social networks run on algorithmic feeds engineered to keep you hooked through controversy, vanity metrics, and sponsored placement. We never wanted that for RC Drift Empire.
We built the Like feature to do something simple and genuine: let drivers give each other props. When you see a sick build, a driver who consistently helps newcomers tune their gyros, or a local track owner who keeps the carpet or P-tile spotless, you should be able to tap a heart and show some love without having to battle an algorithm.
What You Can Like
You will now see a clean heart button on key pages throughout the site:
- Driver Profiles: Show love to your drift homies and local heroes. (You can see the new Like button in action right above on Wes_Handy's profile!)
- Garages & Chassis: Tap the heart on custom bodies, slick chassis setups, and clean wiring jobs.
- Tracks: Support your home track or your favorite travel spot so other drivers know where the action is happening.
- Track Events & Competitions: Show organizers that you are hyped for their upcoming practice nights and comp rounds.
- News & Comments: Upvote insightful articles, event recaps, and great community comments.
A Note on Tuning Setups: Shared setup sheets already have a dedicated 5-star rating system. Starring a setup automatically counts toward your favorites and profile activity, keeping the technical tuning sheets distinct from general appreciation.
How It Works (And Why It Stays Fair)
We designed the likes system to be completely transparent and immune to gaming:
- One Tap to Like: Tap the heart to like, tap again to unlike. Your liked items are saved to your profile activity.
- Open Door for Every Driver: Any registered driver can like anything right away. No paywalls, no level gating.
- No Paid Boosting: Pro members and sponsors cannot buy like multipliers or pay to push items to the top. Every driver gets exactly one vote.
- Trusted Liker Protection: To protect public leaderboards (like "Driver of the Week" or "Fan Favorite"), ranking formulas only count established, verified community members—preventing throwaway spam accounts from inflating numbers.
- Powers the Popular Shelves: Likes feed the Popular Drivers shelf on the homepage and directory, spotlighting community-voted drivers.
