πŸ”§ HPI Stage D10 Flux β€” Front Suspension & Steering Geometry Adjustments

Spent some time experimenting with the front suspension and steering geometry on my D10 today. Figured I’d share the adjustments and what they do for anyone else looking to dial in their setup!

1️⃣ Front Steering Turnbuckles: 12.5 mm β†’ 13.45 mm Changes front toe alignment, increasing toe out.

2️⃣ Front Lower Control Arms: 3.63 mm β†’ 5 mm Extended the lower arms to increase negative front camber.

3️⃣ Upper A-Arm Caster Spacers: 3 mm Toward the Front Repositioned the upper arms to adjust caster. Affects dynamic camber, steering self-centering, and front-end response.

4️⃣ Steering Rack Ball Joints: 3 mm Spacers Behind the Ball Joints Added 3 mm spacers behind the steering rack ball joints, following a recommendation from another D10 driver. Changes the steering linkage geometry and can influence Ackermann characteristics. Initial result: Noticeably more available steering angle! πŸ”₯

5️⃣ Yokomo V4 Gyro β€” Steering Endpoint Adjustment Adjusted the gyro endpoints to accommodate the new steering geometry.

Current Results & Observations: Definitely gained some steering angle with these changes! I’m running the Yokomo V4 gyro with the stock HPI servo and transmitter. Still experimenting to find the best balance between steering angle, stability, and quick transitions. Not claiming this is the perfect setup, just sharing what I’ve changed and what I’m learning along the way. Hopefully this helps some other D10 owners experimenting with their alignment!

Answer from @sith

My son just got a D10. The out of box wasn't bad but I've been looking for alignment suggestions. I'm definitely going to give these alignment settings a shot.
